Rain on Nasturtiums 1

The nasturtiums in our front bed caught beads of rain. They seemed to balance perfectly on the leaves -- either in the cosy middle or perched balls on the outer edges.

Veggie Garden -- the beginnings

Veggie Garden -- the beginnings

Another look at the inaugural veggie beds.

Veggie Garden -- the beginnings

Veggie Garden -- the beginnings

I built these raised beds for our veggies in the front yard. The front gets the best sun and we don't use it very much so I figured I'd put it to use and get some wonderful fresh veggies for us. I think it will also be a great experience for Hanna.

Garden Chair #2

Same chair -- different view.

Garden Chair

This lovely garden chair is a move-me-down. It originally belonged to a friend of our friends, Hazel and Lee. It's travelled the world and now resides comfortably with us on our front entry walk. I think it likes it's new location.

Veggies are all planted -- peppers, strawberries, lettuce, tomatoes, squash, watermelon, cucumber and lots of herbs. So far they're loving the location -- lots of hot afternoon sun.

Side Garden Roses

Side Garden Roses

My roses this year are doing well -- though it's a constant battle with aphids.

Formerly Known as Berbers

Formerly Known as Berbers

Not sure if it's spelled berbers or burbers? But these prickly, non kid-friendly plants are gone, gone, gone! I took them out a couple of weeks ago. I'm hoping to put in a small fence and then some small gardens where the berbers were.
